I find this to be a fascinating avenue for collecting. I've got the 1964 book by Altz and Barton, Foreign Coins Struck at United States Mints. I've also got a pdf copy of the Department of the Treasury's book Domestic and Foreign Coins Manufactured by Mints of the United States 1793-1980 (is there a newer version of this?). I used these to put together a detailed spreadsheet of everything I could figure. I added to that listing all the issues from the Franklin Mint and the Scovill mint. The total list that I have for foreign coins struck in the US is 4452 entries long, though admittedly, a huge chunk of those are the Franklin mint. Are there other private mints that made coins for foreign countries? Anyone interested in this list, in particular, in helping me clean up the listing?

I know this is an old topic I'm latching onto, but I spent a lot of time putting together a list. No one has any interest in foreign coins minted in the US?

Liked everyones comments on this thread so thought I would add my favourite which is the Belgium 2Fr coin of 1944. This was produced in America on blanks of the 1943 cent. So far so normal except that there was a mix up and some got produced on the silver 1/4 gilder Kingz pictures above. Here's a picture of one but alas only the zinc version.
