http://www.coinworld.com/NewCollect...lanchet.aspx "One fact true for all errors of this broad category is that the planchets must be of an equal size or smaller than the intended planchet. A 5-cent planchet, for example, would not fit between the dies of the smaller cent."

scubu yes I believe that this statement is true; "One fact true for all errors of this broad category is that the planchets must be of an equal size or smaller than the intended planchet. A 5-cent planchet, for example, would not fit between the dies of the smaller cent." That takes me to "or smaller than the intended planchet" That in turn took me too; "Foreign Coins Manufactured at US Mints by Tim Ziebarth March 2006" and on it goes etc etc... Did you find the link http://www.moonlightmint.com/artifacts.htm as educational as I did ?

Why is it that important to twist so many knowledgeable people's given statement so that it fits your theory of "impossible" error? So that you can sell it on ebay with high profit? Don't you see you are ticking off a heck lot of people? Wait, you are after your own personal satisfaction.

First drop your impossible error coin theory and learn the facts of how coins are struck. Then you know what is going on.

No, I did not! Rather than referring to some obscure link over and over, state the facts that are to the point!

gxseries - I am not a salesman nor do I buy and resell coins at a profit. svslav love your quote; "An intellectual is not the one who thinks he knows a lot but the one who knows he thinks a lot!" I do a lot of thinking...

in answer to the original question
To the best of my knowledge Philadelphia was the only mint to make foreign coins during those dates.

I agree nohope587 that none are listed as such in the above noted chart. Although page 4 of "Foreign Coins Manufactured at US Mints" by Tim Ziebarth March 2006. It shows at least 5 countries that P/D/S minted coins for; Haiti, El Salvador, Liberia, Panama, and Philippines Republic. The first issued date and last issued date would cover both 1959 and 1960. I know rule of thumb that coins were dated the year they were minted but, there were only a few exceptions. Thanks for your help.

Cool topic, will read it all later... I have a few to share also

In war time we Dutch also were helped by you Americans and the Brits with the minting of coins, mostly for our colonial country's if I'm correct But also some Dutch coins itself, for example the last serie of the Silver 25 Cents 1943P, 1944P, 1945P P = Philadelphia

I only have one of those, however not the 1945 because that latest edition is worth like €150 in Fine. It's because most of the 1945P coins were never put into circulation. The one I have (1944P) is pretty common, but nice nonetheless

(But I think it had a weak stamp / dirt in the stamp, see first picture)

Here is also an interesting coin, 1 Cent 1943P Originally minted for Suriname (but it is in the Dutch section, and I think it was also used here )

Anyway it has only been minted 1 year, because of the need for copper they decided to change the composition.. hence the "golden" collor!
Although there are also some variaty's of this Yellow Copper 1 Cent that have been minted in 1942 for Curaqao & Suriname. They are both relativly common coins, and not very expensive but cool to have:

But now a very interesting piece of information which you might or might not have known Because youre original topic was specifically about Denver minted coins.... I was checking my Dutch catalogue and behold, probably one of the most expensive coins in the book is a Denver minted coin!!

The 10 Cents, 1944D minted for The Netherlands. It says: BEWARE! Dangerous copy's exist of the 10 Cent 1944D only several pieces came into circulation and are Very Rare!

PRICETAG:
€/(F), €9000(VF), €14000(XF), €20000(FDC)

so, is there a better list of these coins struck in the US. I see a reference in the article but I was wondering if anyone has put together a list, maybe by Krause number, if that doesn't violate some copyright, of those coins.
