So does anyone have an idea of the worth of these coins? I would be grateful for any help you could give.

jetsetter - the Hawaian Half Dollar looks like a decent F possibly a VF - but I would first examine its authenticity. There is a seam line within the rim that bothers me in the scan. It may possibly be a cast copy or a strike made from a transfer die. You should check the weight of the coin accurately and then check the specific gravity to make sure it is actually silver. The entire Hawaian series has been counterfeited in both Tourist and Numismatic quality forgeries - so be careful with that one.

The Nova Scotia Penny is a nice one - I know of no good looking fakes of that type. There are three varieties - copper with and without engraver initials LCW below the bust - those are $8 to $10 coins. The third variety a struck bronze version is rare and never seen circulated.

I bumped up the contrast of the photo in Photoshop to make the coin more visable. When I used Photoshop to cut the coins out of the photo I did not do an exact job. Also, my procedure for taking the photos may be at fault. I am using a digital camera and a large magnifing lense.

Edit: I can see the lines in the photo but they are not on the coin. My combination of camera shake, magnification, and photoshop manipulation may have change the appearance of the coin.

Here is the problem with the coin as I see it.

This could be real - the line could be a collar die with a tiny chip. However, I would be very suspicious until I had checked the physical parameters.

I looked again and it's not there. My digital camera is not the best and the images can be fuzzy. There was a little "bleeding" of the image. Add that to the fact that I was holding the camera which was causing it to shake and I was taking the photo through a magnification lense and you get the point. Also, when I cut it out in photoshop I was not exact.
