Hello all, Wanted to say thank you for all your help so far. I hope I've helped a few along the way. I'm checking on this 1825 Bust Half Dollar. This was bought from https://www.MINTPRODUCTS.com Paid $149 for the EF. I'm a little off with the toning of the coin. Does this amount of Toning Hurt a coin like this. The description said nothing of toning on the coin. I'm hoping the toning isn't hiding some kind of imperfection. What do you guys think. Is it worth it. This is actually my stepfather's coin. I like to look out for him being he choose to stick around when my father didn't. So I guess its my way of telling him I Luv Ya. I've watched a few videos on Youtube.com/coincleaning where they use Baking Soda W/ Hot Water and a Pc of Tin foil. To remove unwanted toning. If I can stop the toning process or remove it with out hurting the coin would this be a smart way of doing it. Thanks so much for your time. Heres the Pics

Run away as fast as you can- that will ruin the nice crusty original appearance of your coin Greysheet EF is $135 so you paid a fair price on an accurately graded coin

The idea of baking soda sounds great on face value items. ie..bars, rounds ect. I wanted to throw out the idea though kinda loaded question. Love the replies. Walk away slowly....LOL I just put it in an airtight holder the one with the black ring around the coin(AirTight). It was only a 30mm though. Its pretty snug. Do you think theirs any issues that might arise being its not quite the right size. This is the first bust in either of our collections. Its great to see one in person. Its so helpful to see a real one. By real I mean not in a book. And I guess it would help if the coin were real too. LOL I've searched through hrs of E-Bay listings trying to detect whats real from fake. That's going to be my next post/ Ill list the sellers that red flags went up on. See what kind of response it gets and see if my eyes getting better.
Now onto a question about Doubling. Take a look at the picture below, Along the arrows it seems like there's doubling. Closest to the claw, along the left side of the arrow shows the best. Is this part of the design.
Once again Thank You very very much for your help. I cant thank you enough for the help. And to have a place to put ? that come up in my daily thoughts is such a relief. So thank you once again.

There is only one doubled die in the entire range of CBH, and that is the reverse of 1820 O-108..... What you might see on any other CBH variety is most likely either Strike Doubling ( Machine Doubling) which is coin specific and not in the die, or it could be the result of die wear at the edge of the device drop offs as it rounds over.

Very nice half dollar. Do not clean your coin. It is naturally toned and if you attempted to clean it you would ruin its value. It looks great just the way it is and what a nice gesture you did for your uncle. I feel that you got a very fair deal for the amount of money you paid.
