No problem, NWseeker! You up here in the NW, by the way? I'm in Bremerton, WA.

Anyway, I do that kind of bidding with all silver coins. As I said earlier, my winning percentage is about 10%. If you do this kind of bidding, don't be surprised to come back to your ebay account and see "You need to pay for 30 items." It's happened. However, they are ALWAYS good buys. I bid on a lot of 15 Barber dimes a couple months ago and won them for about 28 bucks. When I got them one of the dimes was a 1914 D in VF 30. This dime paid for about 4 or 5 of the other dimes in itself. Make sure you have the funds available and try this method. Let me know how it goes.

As plenty of others have already mentioned, you're not missing a thing. A .900 silver U.S. quarter is a .900 silver U.S. quarter. Given the choice between a clapped out-near slick-low grade-common date-circulated pre-'65 specimen and a proof specimen for the same price.., well.., it's a no brainer.

Sweet deal on you're craigslist purchase.
