Hello,

I collect the First Spouse Bronze Medals from the U.S. Mint. In searching for a way to store these medals I have found that Whitman is the only company, so far, that makes an album. I would prefer to store these medals in cardboard 2x2 holders like the rest of my raw coins but because of their thickness and also because no 2x2 holders are made specifically for these medals this idea does not work well. I suppose I could always store them in their original mint envelopes secured in the vacuum packed Mylar. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Rich

This may sound like a strange suggestion. I did this to an MS64 .900 Kennedy half when I got it in 1964:

I sprayed it with acrylic lacquer from a spray can. It is impossible to see the film on the coin, and it still has the same blazing cartwheel effect, totally undiminished, as the day I sprayed it! That was 46 years ago.

As I understand it, the film can be removed with acetone, but I certainly have no motivation to do so.

Being a Whitman Album person I go along with just putting them in a Whitman Album. Then to really presearve them, place the Albums in a Zip Lock Plastic Bag, push out as much air as possible.
Kind of nice to see them all in ome place, all organized too.
