I'd like a nice example, but one where I won't freak out if I turn around and somebody has it in hand. They seem to be running mid to high $30s, right? Any premium for a W? Recommendations on years? I say go to any reasonable-sized coin show in your area and you will have a thousand (plus) ASE to choose from. If it's for your 7070 I see no reason to pay a premium for a Proof coin ...... mitchhailey Pillar of the Community United States 1150 Posts	Posted 01/01/2011 05:29 am Even though Silver Eagles are bullion coins, you do have quite a selection to choose from for your 7070. You can get a proof, a reverse proof, a burnished coin or a regular ol' business strike. There are even some varieties, such as the 2008-W with 2007 reverse. You could even pay top dollar and get a 1995-W proof...but that is kinda overkill unless you have 4 grand or more to just toss around. I kind of agree with nickelsearcher. If you don't want to worry about it being handled carelessly by someone just go on ebay and buy a nice looking business strike...say, maybe from the first year of mintage, 1986.
