I have a 1971 Brown Ike Proof which has what appears to be a peg leg that disappears as coin is tilted (weak strike).

Is this a unique variety?

I have not been able to get a high power loupe on it yet, but it appears to also have some doubling on the rev (could be MD).

Anyway, I don't recall seeing mention in Ike threads about this variety so input will be appreciated.

Finally, is there a good source that lists the various varieties/errors on Ike dollars as I am fairly new to them?

Thanks

Until you can get some pictures of the coin up
here is a little light reading on one type
of Peg Leg.
I hope this helps.
