I was wondering if I could get anyones opinion on this dime my wife found at work. I cant find any that look like it on any websites. I have seen some that have one side that looks copper but this is on both sides. I thought that maybe it was tampered with or something but it is so uniform all across the coin so I dont think it is heat and I dont see any rounded edges like acid or anything. Any info will be appreciated thanks.

The coin looks to be full thickness in your photos and also appears to be a decent strike. If this were a missing layer coin, it would have to be missing both outer claddings and would be very thin and probably show strike weakness because of that. It is probably a plated coin, something that could have been easily done in a high school chemistry class or with a commercial plating kit.

I figured it could be something like that but what kind of plating would you be able to use and not gain any thickness or loose any of the small edges. Thanks for your help

At a gold prospecting show I went to, this guy had a plating machine. He asked me if I had a penny. He took my penny and brushed it about five time with this chemical, and gold plated the cent. Probably something like that but copper. It is an extremely thin plating. It added no thickness or weight to the cent.
