Jefferson Doubled Die Reverse / DDR , Over MM And Over Date

nickelsearcher Moderator United States 15521 Posts	Posted 01/01/2011 5:58 pm Soooo .... in my search so far I have set aside 3,053 roll-found Jefferson dated prior to 1960 ...... and have not searched them for potential varieties. In the spirit of doing this before the task becomes overwhelming ... I have committed myself to go through all of them and take a second look. My research so far indicates that I should be looking for the seven following varieties: 1939 DDR 1942-D over horizontal D 1943/2-P 1945-P DDR (more than one variety?) 1949-D, D over S 1954-S, S over D 1955-D, D over S Am I missing any here? Does anybody have links to good photos that can aid in identification of these? The RedBook photos are very small. I'll check in later and update you on what I come up with. I have a large pile of 'potential' varieties now .... and realize that I need better optics than the el-cheapo 10x loupe I own. In search of better optics ..... then a full and detailed review to follow (with photos of course of any finds).
