pyrbob Rest in Peace United States 1943 Posts	Posted 01/02/2011 4:09 pm I don't think this is a double denomination error. A double denomination error would be a cent struck over a struck dime. It has images of both coins on it. This is a cent struck on a dime planchet. The lack of detail is because the dies for a cent are set with a gap for the thickness of the cent and a dime is thinner so it does not strike up completely. Report this Post to the Staff

While I agree that both of these coins are cents struck on dime planchets, they are just that and nothing more - not die trials, capped die strikes, or double denominations. Bryan1315 Bedrock of the Community United States 14454 Posts	Posted 01/02/2011 5:34 pm I agree, a double denomination would be what is usually called as a 11¢ piece where both the Lincoln Cent and the dime has both been struck on the planchet with the Cent being over the dime usually. Your coin is just a struck on wrong planchet error not a dual denomination error. here is another picture of a double denomination error(Obverse and Reverse) Report this Post to the Staff
