It was popular in the 70s to sell pennies stamped with various "stuff." There are cents with silhouettes of each of the 50 states. There are cents where the coin is deformed into a sort of 3-d stamp of a cross or Kennedy's head or other things.

It's sort of the early version of "colorized" State Quarters that are painted (or have a sticker placed over them actually).

Thanks, that helps a lot. Would you say they are valuable or worth keeping?

No, they are not worth anything. They're essentially defaced. If someone had used a rare date for this, it'd drop significantly in value.

There is actually a story behind the Lincoln/Kennedy thing. It seems Lincoln had a Secretary named Kennedy, and Kennedy had a secretary named Lincoln. There are other similarities in their lives, and there is a conspiracy theory about the whole thing that I can't remember. I'm sure you could Google "Lincoln Kennedy" and find the whole story.

When those coins first came out they were being sold with a card that said Lincoln-Kenndy Penny at the top. Somewhere on a coin forum not long ago someone had that card shown with all the info on it about the two. A lot of so called Astonishing Coincidences
Lincoln was elected in 1860
Kennedy was elected in 1960
There are 7 letters in each name
Both were slain on a Friday
Both were slain in the presence of their wives
Both were directly concerned with Civil Rights
Kennedy's secretary named Lincoln
Lincoln's secretary named Kennedy

Actually the list goes on and on.

yeah that probably came from the lincoln-kennedy card a while back, my dad gave me the one he had and I got it right here. It reads "This uncirculated Lincoln Head penny is stamped with a profile reproduction of John F. Kennedy looking at Lincoln. This unusual commemorative piece is truly a collectors item." Then it lists the astonishing coincidences between the two
