As I am on a budget, and Silver is topping a high right now, with no sign of dropping.......
I was thinking of picking up one 2010 Proof and one 2010 Bullion.

Having coins graded and slabbed has never been important to me, but is this a better investment? Ex; 2010 proofs are going about $55 right now. If I am seeing this correct, graded and slabbed a 70 are going for $100+. But graded a 69 bring about $65+.

Do you see my confusion?

There is no confusion.70 is a tough grade to get.So the price is with good premium. And raw specimens are easy toned and get scratches etc. The finest grade for collection is 69 which is nice coin with high quality.Outside slab few people can determine if a coin is 69 or 70.

From your other posts, it looks like you are trying to buy from an investment standpoint. Stay away from proofs and graded ASEs in this case. And as epop said, 99.9 percent of ASEs coming straight from the mint are going to grade 69 or 70 anyway, and I personally would not pay a 100% premium on a bullion coin to have a third party grader tell me it is either one of those grades. We will at least see $40 an ounce silver this year, in my opinion, so maximize your purchasing power now and buy only 'junk' silver.

Thank you Gentlemen, Very good advice! I came across some other good advice while searching this site...."Never send a coin like these off to be graded when there are so many already available- you will never get back the cost of the gradeing". When it comes to coins....Pretty-Silver Coins!! Its hard to fight that fever to "BUY,BUY,BUY". I am hoping to some day soon trade or sell some of my Bullion silver rounds and bars for these ASEs.
Thanks again, Paul
