I was going to ask what site is the best but I don't know what the best is anymore. I don't know if I have ever bid and won a coin that was properly graded and under book. So this is the order in which I would I would place my buying/bidding:

Teletrade
Auctionzip
ebay
Heritage

I would like to hear alternatives or success stories if you have any.

I think you can get better buys on certified coins on Heritage. I buy lower value raw coins on ebay. Haven't used auctionzip and find Teletrade difficult to find what I am looking for.

And CCF is good - got some great coins and deals here!

I would use Heritage but for the fact I am a Texas resident and it costs me 8.25% more on top of the final price to buy from them. So my low bids are never successful. Teletrade allow sellers to place "buy back" bids so I'm very careful to only bid in the last few seconds and only on coins that are still at or below grey sheet. The other problem with Teletrade is that the Auction does not end at 10pm as they state. it will continue for up to 1 min after if there is active bidding going on.
Never bought from Auctionzip.
ebay all I can say is be very very careful and above all know your Coin. Deals may be had but require a lot of work.

It's definitely a learning experience. I bought what I thought were certified Morgans on ebay but upon closer inspection, they were not a reputable slab at all and then to add insult to injury, they were located in Saigon or some darn place! I'm afraid to find out if they are authentic or not.

Auctionzip is okay but here again, buyer beware. Coins are often over graded and trying to deal with these places after the fact is not worth the time. I guess with Teletrade and Heritage, at least you know what you're getting. Well, for the most part anyway. I think those who live in CA have to pay the sales tax on Teletrade transactions. Just like I have to pay sales tax on every Amazon purchase I make in this great state of WA!

there is bowers and merena also. Heritage/Teletrade usually only sell graded coins where B&M sells raw high dollar coins and they usually are a little cheaper unless they are really high dollar coins. There are deals to be had there I guess is what I am saying. There is also Stacks that is another alternative. Even though I use the others allot more than these two I mentioned, I do and have used these as well

I checked out the Bowers and Merena site but didn't seen any upcoming online auctions. I guess Teletrade spoils someone that way....hehe
