For a very long time, I've been promising myself that I'd sort out the UK copper. There's about 4,000 pennies, 1,000 halfpennies and maybe 1,000 farthings; from George II to Elizabeth II.
I'm aware of a few of the type and die variations, courtesy of Coins of England (Spink), but is there a way to go through this many coins without a book permanently in your hand.
Tony Clayton is brilliant, ( check out his new updates ) but doesn't cover everything. What I need is some kind of crib sheet setting out years, denomination and variety.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Bob

I'm hoping you'll make one and then share with the rest of us!

I still can't bring myself up to do the inventory of what I have (a tiny fraction of yours) and what I'm missing.

Good luck with the task, and hopefully you'll have duplicates to sell/trade here!

Bob, there is a guy in London, he has a small store in Notting Hill. His name is Michael something. He has some nice books on British Penny and coppers. You should check him out. Last time I was in his shop, he seems to know a lot about pre-decimal coppers.
