This has the right weight-about 8 grams, but my 2005 Krause shows this issue (KM #820) up to 1917 and then goes to 1925. Mine is dated 1918. Also is this 45 degree rotated reverse normal?

A few Commonwealth Mints issued a sovereign in 1918. Look for a mintmark:
(I) for Bombay, India, just opened in 1918,
(M) for Melbourne, Australia,
(P) for Perth, Australia,
(S) for Sydney, Australia,
(C) for Ottawa, Canada.

I saw it. A worn P above the date. Thanks svslav! Any idea about the rotated reverse?

As for mintage figures and the value look in Krause under Australia.

KM #29. XF is Bulk Value, Unc. $235, BU $250. It's listed under "Trade Coinage" - interesting.

Currently the bullion value is over $320 US. Just in case you were planning on selling it.
