I thought these were not minted until 1960.

The memorial reverse was first minted in 1959. The Wheat back was last minted in 1958. :)

The 1959 Wheat cent is probably an altered coin. Normally they are Memorial reverses for that year.

Can you post a picture of the Obverse and Reverse?

Lincoln Memorial design (1959--2008)

On Sunday morning, December 21, 1958, President Eisenhower's press secretary, James Hagerty, issued a press release announcing that a new reverse design for the cent would begin production on January 2, 1959. The new design, by Frank Gasparro, had been developed by the Treasury in consultation with the Lincoln Sesquicentennial Commission. Approved by the President and by Secretary of the Treasury Robert B. Anderson, the new design featured the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. The redesign came as a complete surprise, as word of the proposal had not been leaked.[55] The coin was officially released on February 12, 1959, the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's birth, although some pieces entered circulation early.

Thank you. I can take pictures but I for the life of me can not figure out how to size, crop or whatever. I'm sure it was dipped in something because it has spots on it looks like metal.

do a search for Paint.NET

It is a free online photo editing software. Works great for resizing, cropping and so forth. Also search for PhotoScape. It is a freeware down loadable photo editing software. Great for coin pics as it has the option to crop round objects. You will also like to have a Photobucket.com account. Photobucket is a free file sharing site for your pictures. Easy to use and great for sharing your photos. Once you upload your photos to photobucket...just hover your mouse over the pic for a few seconds. A small window will pop-up. Point to the link for IMG code and left click to copy it. When creating your posts here on the forum...just paste the link in to the body of your post where you want the picture to be. Your all set.
