Any tips on how to keep coins in Dansco albums in place? For example, in my 7070, the silver 3 cent piece keeps sliding out, sometimes all the way across the proof Lincolns I have in that row. I think I can live with my large cents constantly rotating, but this one is irritating. Thanks.

some of the holes in my 7070 is bigger than the coins so I cut some shims out of the plastic 2x2's I had laying around and put them around the coin in the slot to make them fit tight

Both of my Three Cent holes (silver and nickel) are very tight. My 7070 is almost 14 years old now, so the hole sizes may have changed/drifted since then. The only loose holes I have are the Large Cents. Every other hole is snug. Maybe too snug. The hole for my Capped Bust half dollar was too small so had to stretch it out a little.

I have the same problem, just by picking up the album my Half Dime slipped into oblivion haha. Took my 10 minutes to find it.

And it's not just Dansco. Many of my Whitman Albums do that too. I've known people that told me the same thing about Littleton Albums. On my Whitman ones when a coin tends to be loose and slide out I just add a small piece of a spare slide over or under any coins that do that. It takes a little time to cut a piece out the same size but it does work.

my barber half is the culprit, it always rotates.

I wonder how the wedge would work. A small peice of cardboard cut real small might work. For sliping out I've used the additional plastic piece but for moving around like rotating, the wedge sysem may be better.

I am going to try the shim made from a flip for my large cents too, but I am glad you asked about this because the trimes seem to fit the diameter of the hole fine (whereas the large cents are too small due ot being made wthout collars I assume), but the trime seems to slip between the mylar slider and the actual page. Does a shim help alleviate that problem too? It wouldn't be too big of a deal if the coin just rotated (althougb that is annoying too), but when it disappears from the spot it should be in... that is a bummer. Does anybody have pics of those shims in the Dansco 7070?

i was thinking of getting a 7070 and starting to fill but was concerned about coins getting damaged. have you noticed any damage to your coins from them sliding/rotating?

If you look at my pics of my 7070, you can see where I used shims around my first three large cents, my Reeded Edge Capped Bust Half and my Trade dollar. The Trade dollar just barely needed one but I went ahead as it would rotate just the slightest bit. I was able to find material that matched the color of the Dansco so it's not as noticeable.

I like the shims on the 7070. Could those papers leach acid over time and stain the coins? Would using mylar from a flip be better?

In almost all instances if the flips are recent, no acids or anything that would effect the coins. HOWEVER, the actual plastic you mentioned would be the safest and probably the least noticable. Of course if you really want them to stay in place, put epoxy glue on both sides and then put into the slot. No epoxy glue. Then just use some Elmers glue all. I should watch that since there is always someone that may think I'm serious and try that.
