A points to denticle is also known as high relief obverse.A points between denticles is low relief obverse.At the time the mint was changing from high relief to low relief to extend die life.The '49 high relief is worth more simply because it's less common.

Thanks! I shot this one with a Nikon dSLR w/60 mm macro lens. I use photoshop to color color/contrast and sharpen some.

Bobby, you're welcome to use this pic. I have not photographed the other obverse variety for '49 or 48.
I'm not sure I even own them--I only go after the good ones.
