im back with yet another question about the mint mark. this is a 1955S, and I dont know whats going on with the mint mark. the end of the bottom curl of the "s" seems to have a light narrow continuation, as well as some line under the upper curve of the "s". probably nothing but id rather ask, than to have something interesting go back into the bulk starage bin. thanks.

If you check other examples of the same year/mint mark you might find a similar thing going on with them. If several dies are affected, then it is a bad punch that was being used at that time. Just my take from your images. Other years have the same problem as well. The main clue: Is it found on many dies, or on just one?
