I have been collecting wheat pennies for many years now. Latley, I have been getting into the bank rolls since my local bank had 1 wheat every 2 rolls. I usually only take the wheat pennies.

I was wondering what other non-wheat pennies to look for. Also, I am very unfamiliar with the vocabulary you guys use, such as WAPs? RPMs?

Thanks for the help!

find the thread titled"Cool Lincoln roll finds" under Modern Coins for starters. There is a glossary on the left side of the page that will help you with terms and abbreviations. Have fun and be prepared to learn from some of the best....and ask plenty of questions.

i think 1 wheat per every 2 rolls is good. I bought a $25 box (50 rolls) and got 9 wheats. thats like 1 out of every 5 to 6.

Thanks so much for this. I was looking for this sort of thing. Quick questions...

1) what is D/D/D, D/D, and S/S ?

2) what are the 7 varieties from 1982?

1) slashes represent Repunched mintmarks. do "D/D" would be a "D over D mintmark" where it was punched 2 times

2) * 1982 Large Date Bronze
* 1982 Small Date Bronze
* 1982-D Large Date Bronze
* 1982 Large Date Zinc
* 1982 Small Date Zinc
* 1982-D Large Date Zinc
* 1982-D Small Date Zinc

I believe because of low mintage number.
