According to CDN, there's a $6.00 jump between VF and EF on this coin. There's a rim-dent on the obverse at 12:00. Would that keep this coin from grading EF?

The sharpness is certainly EF. In my opinion, that's what it is, but I'll wait for CopperCoins take on this one. The dent doesn't seem to be that severe to me.

Rim bump doesn't look too bad. It certainly would be EF. Thad say AU and that's where the big price jump comes in.

I'd say it's at least a strong EF45 if not AU50.

EF-45

Is that a fingerprint between the wheat stalks on the reverse?

EF 45+ the obverse looks AU but the wheat stalks are a hair weak for an AU-50

fenton - These are known for worn dies and mushy strikes. Use the better struck wheat (left) to look for wear. It's an old trick we have to do when one side is poorly struck. A TGP might very well EF this coin, but I personally think the wear is not that bad. I disagree with the TPG's all the time.

Also note the obverse shows just a slight rub, there's no major hits on either side, the fields are nice. The only downfall I see on this coin is the obverse surface residue. On a coin of this value, I wouldn't hesitate to remove that.
