Since vbekarevich didn't seem to have much chance to talk, if not didn't really understand the requirements, I guess this is another chance for him to understand.

(and excuse me for my poor Russian!)

vbekarevich:

Now back into the topic, Belarus had some inflation issues in the past. Hence, no coins except commemorative coins were minted.

At one stage, Belarus was the only country that seriously planned on unifying back with Russia as it had plenty of finicial woos and probably hoped that a strong ruble can help to back it's economy.

More details can be read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belarusian_ruble

In comparsion, it's neighbours, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania all do have coins for circulations.

Don't be mistaken - Belarus do produce some of the world's finest coins, including the Crystal series coins on oxidized silver which is probably an unique way to design such. Examples can be seen at Greg's homepage: http://www.chervonets.com which I urge you to take a look if you haven't done so.

What do you think of Belarusian commemorative coin designs?

Now... let the discussion roll. :)

What do you mean by "Since vbekarevich didn't seem to have much chance to talk, if not didn't really understand the requirements, I guess this is another chance for him to understand."

Well I understand the rules in the right way. By the way the English variant is more understandable for me than your Russian one. Your Russian (or Russian of your computer translator) is really awful

I like your collection of Soviet and Russian coins. And thank you for compliment to "some of the world's finest coins".

As I have already posted

Yes I know
I have an american friend
He bought a coin in Spain
Now he tried a spanish question and got a Babelfish english answer
one could NOT understand
Now I speak basic spanish so I put the question and the vendor answered in Babelfish English
So I had to tell all parties please stop Babelfish and let me do the basic translation between spanish and english because if I do not know a word I will know and can look it up and I will be sure at least the content can be understood

Hi vbekarevich

I just found your link to the Belarus commemorative coins, they are very beautiful with a wide variety of topics...

I noticed most all of these have very tiny mintages...are they still readily available to you?

Best regards,
Dennis

I have purchased some Belarus commemoratives in the last 4 years and most are absolutely stunning to say the least. Very eye appealing, with a wide range of topics and very well struck. The Swans I have in both cupro-nickel and silver are absolutely amazing works of art!

Well, Australia does, granted it is a little bit big to carry in one's pocket to use in the parking metres.
