back again with another RPM question. probably the same question asked in a different way. here is a 1956D. the mint mark seems to clearly have splits on both serifs. this coin does not match any listed RPM's at coppercoins. so - is this another case similar to the 1952D's where there many unlisted RPM's, and this is simply another unlisted RPM. it seems like a pretty "cool" looking RPM, but probably unlisted.

That is a very nice example of a "tilted" rpm. I would think it is strong enough to be one of the listed ones. Based on the single photo, it looks like it could be 1956-d-1MM-024.

No matter what, it is definitely an rpm and a nice find! Thanks for posting!

It looks like an unlisted one. Keep it till they are listing more for this year. Make a listing with coins of your ownh unlisted ones. Something like 1956D-1MM-XXXX-001 (Place your name where the x's are. That way you can keep tract of them.

To answer the OPs question - there are probably somewhere between 300 and 600 unlisted RPMs for Lincoln cents that are nice enough to be listed. It's just a matter of time until we get all of them listed, hopefully within my lifetime.

I know for sure that I have t least 200 different RPMs that need to be listed that as of yet haven't been because of time constraints. I chose to do this as a career, which means I have to be doing something every day that makes money...and listing minor RPMs doesn't make any money. That part has to be shelved until I get all my inventory listed, take care of my advertising jobs, take care of my clients' websites, feed my dog, and pay attention to what my teenager is doing. It can come before sleep and eating, though.

Basically boils down to the fact that it's pretty hard making a living at Lincoln cents and web development, so I end up working more than I'm playing these days.

believe me when I say - I understand what you mean - about making a living, before playing. I am an architect. and it should be fairly obvious that these are NOT good days to be an architect. I have taken on two part time jobs, trying to keep my practice "afloat". I do not even have enough spending money to feel comfortable buying a $25 box of cents to search. I am currently reduced to sorting and cataloguing my previous finds. (in any case it is a good time to catch up, and tidy up).
