Ok first off,
1) Is there an app on the iphone that is made for coin collecting (like a price guide for example that I can pull up) 2) If not number one, is there a printable easily held universal price guide to take to the flea market and coin stores etc. 3)Are there any coin shows in Nashville, TN or can anyone tell me where to find out where these coin shows would be? 4)Random but how many nickels are in a roll and how much are they face value from the bank?

1. The only coin app is PCGS Photograde, go to the App Store and you'll see it.
2. I think Greysheet would be perfect for that. It can be printed and it's the most accurate and used my many dealers and collectors and is often regarded as the standard for prices. It isn't free though unless you want to order a free sample.
4. 40, $2.

I did a search for Nashville coin dealers. Came up with 20. http://www.yellowpages.com/nashvill...ers-supplies If it was me .. I would call some of the local dealers and ask them about the coin show .. or visit some shops. In my area the coin shops and coin clubs are involved in setting up the coin shows. I hope that helps .. You can do yahoo /google searches for coin shows .. the quick one I did not show any coming up in the next couple weeks ..

Casutherland, I bought from one in Green Hills called the Coin Purse (website is the same). There was a guy named Joel that was really good with my questions. I plan on going back the next time I am in town. The RedBook is a handy price guide to take but the Greysheet is going to be more accurate judging from what the more experinced collectors say.

Ya the only thing about the Coin purse is that they are slightly pricey. I noticed that out here in Cookeville (where I am at for college) the coin guy out here is pretty cheap. He sells BU silvers a lot of times for just melt and SMS sets for like 7$. I cant really beat his prices anywhere. I am more looking for just a price guide that I can have handy on me to double check prices before I buy things. Honestly, I know a coin show would be nice to go to or even like the flea market that I am going to this weekend.

There's a website called CoinShows.com. It has lists of coinshows by country and state, but coinshows will only be listed on there if the person running one of them contacts the website to have it posted online.

The Monthly Nashville flea market usually has at least 4 coin dealers there. There are usually some pretty good deals to be had. One of them is out of Lebanon but I am not sure where his store is. There is also a dealer at the weekly flea market in Crump who has fairly decent prices. It is somewhat of a drive and he is only there on Saturdays.

I have a son in Tulahoma and another relative in Nashville but neither one knows anything about coins and could care less. As to taking something to a coin show, flea market or coin store, as noted you can't beat the Grey Sheet since that is basically what all the dealers will be using. For finding coin shows, don't forget to also try Coin Clubs. Some Coin clubs also have shows but are small and not well advertised. When looking up coin shows you really have to try several different sources. For some reason I've found some shows are not listed in some of those listings and are on others. It's reather frustrating but sure would be great if there was one coin show listing that was complete but probably not possible. It's up to the coin show people to notify those listing places of the time and place of all shows and many forget or something. I really don't suggest taking a copy of the Red Book with you. The prices in them is completely off. Many dealers think of you as a real amateur so might well charge you Red Book prices and those are really on the high side.
