Here is an 1888-P VAM. It has all the clashes of a VAM 11a, but does NOT have the doubled ear.

Any ideas?

1888-VAM-11A?

VAM 11 is the double ear, 11a is the double ear with the clash. The clash is not the identifier on this coin, the double ear is.
The only clashes that get VAM numbers are the ones that have letter transfer. Check to see if there is s,t, or n's clashed.

It can't be an 11, so you need to keep looking...

Thanks Becky, That is kind of what I was thinking. It is a cool clash though. Liberty has fangs and a big wart on her chin.
