The only coin missing from my Canadian small cent collection was the elusive 1923 key date. Two weeks ago I had surgery on my left rotator cuff (shoulder) and as a get well gift yesterday my sister gave me the 1923 small cent! I'm pretty excited about this!

Ken

PS.... if I have surgery on my right rotator cuff will I receive the 1925 nickel, or would receiving a coin of that calibre require a kidney transplant?

I-Got-My-1923-Small-Cent!
Thanks for the replies friends! The surgery went well, I'm feeling fine and my followup appointment is tomorrow and will start physical therapy this week.

littlemoney, I don't have the far 6 1926 nickel. That coin is too rich for my blood.

SHAFTA9a, so the 1925 nickel will cost a leg, but not an arm and a leg. A bargain!

With this 1923 cent addition, I'm missing very little in my Canadian coin collection. Now I'll be working my way back with the large cents. I have several already and will be gathering the remaining slowly. I sure have come a long way in the past 2 years of collecting. I bought the key date 1925 cent a while back for (what I consider) a good price. Most all the varieties of the cents I have also. (magnetic, non-magnetic, near/far, no shoulder strap, blunt, etc.)

Completely addicted!

Ken

PS-----*OW*...... I stubbed my toe!

Get well soon! I hope you don't have to earn your keydates in a hard way. Health is more important then anything.
Good luck.

I had a kidney transplant a few months ago. You don't get 1925 nickels. I wish I had though.

timnic44, congratulations on your kidney transplant! I with you many years of success with your new kidney.

I too have had a kidney transplant. It will be 27 years ago this coming July, and it's been extremely successful. It works as well as the kidneys I was born with. It was the gift of life I received then.

PS..... my physical therapy won't start for another 4 weeks. The doctor informed me I need to heal completely.

WTG Matchbox on getting your 1923 cent Hope you are well now, I had my left rotator cuff fixed 2 years ago

So I know what you went through. My cuff is great now and speaking of kidneys 1 week ago had a hospital stay to get rid of a

infected kidney and stone that caused swelling blocking off my bowels. Everything is fine now, just taking antibiotics

for another week.

And another WTG on your new kidney timnic44
