I think we all have a tendency to pick certain people to ask a question to. I know when I first came here, I favored a few like Bryan1315 simply because he seemed to answer questions quickly. Soon, I realized there a LOT of super people on here, just some like SuperDave would take maybe a day to answer, maybe because he did not get on but once a day. But his answer was always was right on. It is just human nature to "personalize" some questions, but I have learned to just "throw it out there" and it gets answered. You do not need to apologize to any of us. Enjoy the forums! MM

if the question is about Morgan VAM's and I know the answer I will answer the question no matter who it was directed to. I by no means am an expert by anyone's standards in the field I just have a few books to look through and see if I can find a match to the coin in question (which allot of others have the same books). I mostly collect 1878 VAM's and at the present time 1878-P VAM's has been my main focus but I am very interested in any date variety in the Morgan series and I will see if I can find an answer to anyone's questions about them, not to only educate the person asking but to also educate myself and anyone else that may stumble in here with the same type of question. I am on here allot (because I am disabled and this is about the only contact with the outside world I have) and I may answer allot faster than others who have lives sometimes but I definitely do not think I shine above the rest on any subject. the past week or so I have been slacking in my quickness because I am having some problems with the last surgery I had a few weeks ago and have had to go to the doctors quite a bit or stay in bed because I was hurting so badly. I so not think just because a question is addressed to one certain person on the forum means that you do not want who ever has a answer for you not to answer and I also do not believe any9one would not give their advice just because it was addressed to someone else, I look at it as a way that the person is just trying to get a certain persons attention on a topic they may over look otherwise but it being a open forum means that anyone can answer the question and that's why a personal email wasn't used because the person did want anyone's help that may know the answer to the question they had. Sorry if I am going around in circles but my pain meds seem to be messing with my mind a little this morning and hope I didn't say anything to offend anyone and if I did please forgive me because believe me when I say I am not thinking 100% clearly this morning

I am not offended, but there are many very good and different opinions and some time by everyone giving there opinions we can have a brainstorm and correct any known mistakes or incorrect believes in a particular series. true there are specific people I would ask questions too, because of the particular tastes or expertise in a certain collecting type. ask away.. And I am going to give you a call soon. JIM

If I know the answer to someone's question, I will try to answer it no matter if they asked someone else. This place is all about sharing knowledge. I was flattered that you asked me questions directly Thank you

stmpcol: Thank you for the apology although it wasn't really necessary. I wasn't offended. We do all tend to drift toward a favorite here and there and I'm in total agreement with what morganman said. I just wanted to point it out to you and perhaps I sounded a little rough when I did. Maybe a private e-mail would have been a better avenue for me to do that.
Enjoy the forum and you're still a part of our family!!!!
Thanks!

No offence taken Bryan! I do however think that you're being too modest about your expertise! I'm always amazed at your responses and the details of them. I do know of a few members that were becoming uncomfortable answering questions that were directed at particular members. That was my inspiration not, that I was offended by smptcol at all. I hope that you're feeling better very soon Bryan! I have a similar situation with one of my best friends who has been a Paraplegic since being hit by a car many years ago. He is now, recently, a full Quad and is in extreme pain also. He is one of my great inspirations as he still drives, works and so forth and does not allow the pain or the difficult transfers to interfere. I wish that I had only a small portion of his courage and strength. Please take good care of yourself!
