I was told these are double die obverse coins
but I don't think either of them are. Any help
would be appreciated, thanks...

From the images they look normal. A closer shot of the Date would be a great help.

1917 - looks like it is just worn. Coppercoins lists one double die here http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=mds

They both look like worn coins which tends to make the letters and dates look wider...I've seen some people selling these on ebay as double dies but they're not. As coop says, a close up of the date would make for a better opinion.
