Found this one last night. Is it a defective planchet, or a defective die or a plating issue? Would it be a variety or an error? What would the FMV be? There is also some raised bumps after the word TRUST. There is also some markings behind the head. All comments welcome. Thanks for the help,John1

It appears that the zinc planchet may have been damaged or delaminated before plating, notice how the marks are parallel. It is not Feeder Finger Damage because the would produce raised features on a coin. It would be considered a minor error with a premium of a few dollars perhaps.

I think this is Feeder Finger Damage. I found two exactly the same examples in a OBW roll a couple of years ago. I attributed the lowered areas as debris on the die from the scraping.

Coop, I see the picture of the 2009 Formative years Cent, which you say is damaged from the feeder fingers, I am not sure how Abe's shirt was affected.
Is that Feeder Finger Damage on the die,If not, I can not figure how it could be the feeder fingers on the actual design, unless it was from the fingers, assisting in releasing the coin? Please explain, Thanks, Mike....

I feel it is more debris from the scratching of the die with the feeder fingers. There were only two examples in the roll of this. The rest with the same die markers were normal.
