I received this from a friend.Is it for real? Flip was marked "clipped planchet cent-1980."Sorry for the pics.,but my camera is not working right.I know it looks like camera shake(it isn't)I used a tripod.Thank you all!

If this is a an incomplete planchet (which I'm not seeing), it wouldn't have any value due to its condition.

I wonder where 1980 came from?

Is it the same size as a cent?

By the looks of the flange could it be a cap off of something

It is slightly smaller than a regular cent.(Maybe 1 mm?)About the same thickness.I'm stumped.You might be right-GARAGE job.I'll try for better pics.

Sorry guys,the post is in error.The flip is marked BLANK planchet.Not clip SorryAs far as 1980 being on the flip,who knows?

Just spent 1/2 hour in MY garage, and just about got it down. I've seen worse go for stupid $$.

Thanks guys. I was kind of hoping it was a blank planchet.Oh wellI still don't get 1980 Even if it was a real blank.In hand you can just vaguely see very,very light markings on both sides.Possible lettering But no numbersI think I better give up on this one. Thank you for all your responses

If it was a blank planchet, it was then severely damaged and would have no value other than its metal content.

Again thank you all for responding.I'm putting this one to rest.It didn't cost me anything anyway. 1980??( Oh forget it) Just talking to myself guys.Isn't it great to be able to have this much fun on this forum?
