Although the crack may be very minor I would still like to find out if it is indeed a crack. Out of 25 coins this one had a strike better than the rest so I took a good look at it. Goes from "A" on Dollar to "R" to the end of the field touching the rim.
The line squiggles exactly under the "A" but it squiggles behind the "R"
Also checked rim and obverse for bends but I couldn't find any.
What about die cracks are they very collectibles ? If , how much they increase coin vallue ? I keep all of them but don't know nothing about , yesterday I found a 1958 nickel that have 2 different cracks so any info thanks in advanced !
Die cracks are a normal part of the minting process. Because of that, they are exceedingly common and not worth a premium. Die breaks( Cuds and interior breaks) are a different critter and would be considered errors, they signify the nearing of die failure.
