I'm surprised so many George VI still circulate and a whopping amount of American cents in Canadian coinage. Thanks for the info and keep updating this thread!
Are the copper plated zincs and steels from 1997-present Canadian? I don't have a lot of knowledge. Congrats on your finds!

If I understand your question right, the answer is yes.
All coin numbers under the Canadian: heading are Canadian.

Wild Bill, If you don't mind a question, I was wondering the relation in columns "C", and "D". what is the relationship? I have about two boxes of small cents, (CAN.) and they go from 1920 to date, 2008), I got away from them, when I "found my Vickys"! Some folders are complete, and the rest are in tubes, (square, they don't roll away, when I lay one down, to answer the land-line). The iother part od the question: Are you working on some sort od distribution project, by chance? I did that with the Lincoln cents, a few years ago, and it was interesting. Each volunteer had to sort through 3 boxes,, and list what, and how many were found, of certain dates, and/or mintmarks. also listed were all foreign coins. Would this be a similar project, except that you are doing "all the work"? TIA, Dick

I have thought about tracking my finds. I really should. Will help pass the time till spring. What made you decide on the criteria for your log that you started? Will you also log any varieties or errors you find? I guess I should of asked if you search for varieties & errors first. Trying to get an idea of what criteria I should use. Just finished a box last night. Oldest finds were 1920 $ 1936 Canadian and 1938D US. I managed 9 wheats from the box and 4 "S" Mint Marks from the US coins. Anyone else have any ideas on criteria that would be interesting to log?

So to answer some questions about why I do what I do. 1: I roll search American pennies, Canadian Pennies and nickels. 2: I sort for composition with a Ryedale. 3: Then sort out coins for errors and varieties. 4: And I hoard the copper and .999 nickel I find
The columns on the pennies are the 2 separate days of sorting Canadian pennies and the daily totals of what was sorted. In the last 3 years I've been through approximately $18,000 of American pennies, $7,000 of Canadian pennies and $15,000 of Canadian nickels. The sorting project is so I keep myself motivated and on track.
I was told that the definition of the word "TREASURE" is data or something than can be collected and shared. It is not "treasure" if I collect data and keep it for myself.
If what I share intrigues or inspires someone else to roll search into what I feel is a harmless and priceless hobby, and all that is required is time and patience than I've done my Numismatic duty for the greater good of the hobby.
Now I sound like I'm really out of my mind.
I forgot to list all the varieties/errors I have found, but will post them next update.
