I have a 1957
Wheat penny that is different from any other I have seen. The coin is a wierd color to begin. It looks almost silver. From what I can tell in reading other posts is this is somewhat normal. The main difference in this coin has to do with the outer rim like it may have been made wrong. The "tails" side, or the side with the wheat symbol, is completely smooth to the touch. The outer ring is completely flush with this side of the coin. On the "heads" side of the coin the outer ring provides a significant lip on the outer edge. Almost as if this side of the coin is recessed inside the outer ring. Is there any significance to this coin?
