I don't know about AU. There's a lot of wear on the shield. EF-45 is where I'm going with this one.

I am no expert on these things but when I first saw the pictures my first thought was XF-40-XF-45 so that is what I am going to say. I find when I second guess myself I would have been better with my first thought

I think this is the common large motto type. Gradewise I agree with EF-45.

I attributed the 'wear' to a strike issue...the rest of the coin doesn't look appropriately worn for XF to me. The bow on the ribbon looks to be virtually untouched even...

Yes there are strike issues but there are also visible wear marks.

Most of those 'wear marks' I agree with. That amount of loss of detail in the shield just seems highly inconsistent with the rest of the minor areas of wear. Also, one of the pictures showed nice luster. The wear marks look consistent with AU-53 or so to me, I guess.

Here is one with similar strike issues.
As you can see the wear marks are far less obvious
I chose ANACS as they are the most consistent on this series. PCGS is all over the place I guess they call it market grading...

That one looks to have strong striking in places, but lacks luster =/

Detail wise the new coin looks better than 50 overall, except for the luster. Wouldn't be surprised about PCGS at all.
