I'd thought I'd share some of the cooler of my finds. These have all been found since October on my garrett 250 which the missus gladly bought for my birthday,I haven't got out to much but nearly every time I've found something cool. I hope the pics clear enough but heres what they are going from top left to right, 1.1936 Aussie 3 pence 2.1885 U.K 3 pence (these 2 coins are black because the area I found them has seen alot of bush fires) 3.1948 Aussie 6 pence 4.1949 Aussie 3 pence 5.1963 Aussie 3 pence 6.1959 Aussie 6 pence 7.1960 Aussie shilling 8.1947 Aussie florin (found in my front yard, happy days!) 9.1919 victory medal, from memory this was handed out to school kids when the peace treaty was signed in ww1,(when I say memory I mean from research,I was not there!) 10.This badge I found near a running track close to my place,I'm not to sure what it stands for but I'm thinking maybe a sports association from Queensland, the date stamped on the back is 1962. 11.An Australian military button.I'm not sure from what year so if theres any Aussie military buffs out there that have an idea I'd love to know! Anyway just writing this is giving me the itch, might go for a night swing! Edited by Agosos 02/03/2011 03:28 am

11. has a "King's Crown", so it dates from the era before QE2.

Did a quick search of WW2 military buttons and this looks like it could be from 1915 to 1945 Australian Army, and made of brass.

Gotta love that 250! I love mine. The only thing keeping me from using it is a couple feet of snow!

Aye mate that one made me smile when it popped out the ground. The area its from had a small town from around 1880 until 1920,now its just mainly bush and scrub, with a dirt road cut right through the center.Im looking forward to hitting that area again,I've found an old map of the town so I have a rough idea of where to hunt now
