I drilled some rocks for climbing holds about 15 years ago. I had a couple extra milk crates full. Selling them on ebay with some luck.
Turning them into LWC BU's. How many rocks is your BU worth :)

Ha ha. I do a ton of climbing and have made the same deals myself! That is hilarious that someone else has done it too! I am lucky to have a supply of saw cut natural stones that a local geology department throws out. One quick hole and they are good to go. I can usually get at least a buck a piece for 2 minutes of work. Thanks for posting that!

There is a demand for your everyday rock on ebay? Time to get out the shovel and finance myself a 1901S quarter!

NICE! It's great to see an enterprising mind at work.

I did my share of rock climbing when it was a relatively unknown sport in the early 80's. Back then there were no artificial walls or indoor facilities. Guess I'm showing my age. LOL

Timsumral,

Sounds like we have a lot in common! I would die to have something like that in my yard! That must be pretty cool. Luckily I live in an area with lots of mountains:).

Happy collecting and I will point some customers your way if you plan on selling more holds.

Yup, finished off the 40's this weekend. It's gonna take a lot of rocks to get the 30's done. Might have to settle for XF Brown if I want all the same tone across the decade.

Nice holds, are they limestone? I did a bit of climbing in college on the wonderful sandstone bluffs and boulders of Shawnee National Forest in Southern Illinois. I have a couple old climbing buddies from that area who started their own company- http://www.soillholds.com

There are two basic kinds of rock climbing- outdoors on natural rock formations and indoors on artificial walls with holds mounted on vertical or overhanging plywood. Tim's holds are the indoor type and the hole in the middle is for bolt attachment to the wall.

I too did a lot of rock climbing when in college, before the artificial walls
were invented. Mostly the gunks in New Paltz NY.
Nice enterprise timsumrall. You should rent some old factory, set up walls and get kids
to do climbing classes. Great confidence builder you the youngins!

Limestone is my best guess. I have a sandstone stash that I'll be selling off next :)

Actually my wall is outside but you're right in that normally it's indoor walls.

I told myself that I was not going to make anymore but dang!
