ooooh! holograms!

Y'know, I'm also not very fond of the mint products (Canada, Australia, etc) that are colorized from the mint. They screen printing is usually pretty bad.

At least they didn't describe them as "monster holographic toning".

I seen a girl come into one of my local dealers one weekend thinking she was going to pay her rent with a set of those.

She was really disappointed when we told her that they had been reduced to .25 cents each and were worth more before that happened to them.

Altering aside those are just plain ugly. They're right up there with the colorized $2 notes.

I just saw that ad for the colourized national park $2 bills. They don't even say Federal Reserve Note at the top yet they claim to be legal tender, how are they not getting RAIDED by the FBI etc?!

The sad thing is most of these places lie and do copper plating. Hence, over time, many of these turn green.

I wouldn't just say only on ebay, Late night TV seems to have similar type items. We probably wouldn't believe the amount of money made from these and other altered coins and bills. A lot of the elderly and others not educated on coinage probably tend to believe the hype on these programs. I know my aunt did, and I also had a person at work ask me about those investment gold plated coins. He didn't realize they were only plated. They really should do something about these crooks.

I'm only surprized at that they don't have all 50 State Quarters done yet. Wonder when someone will make a State Quarter Clock?

I agree - people that do this type crap at these prices should be treated as crooks. They prey on those people that don't know any better.
