Its a very dark coin with alot of wear and I could use some help if there is a possible S on the coin. Thanks for the help

An overlay of what? I see nothing in area suggesting a mint mark. Looks just like a corroded 1909 cent.

Maybe it's an "optional" illusion ?

I think I see what you see but don't think it's a mint mark...next time use paint or some editing program to outline the area in question.
