A legit TPG would not slab that coin without a Details Grade and Cleaned descriptor. Grading companies and their slabs help to keep novices from unknowingly buying altered/damaged coins. TPGs help raise awareness of altered coins--and resultant value. I'm not a strict grader, but I do determine a coin's value by the % of original struck surfaces. If you remove 90% of a coin's original surface, what is left? You're left with a shadow of that coin's unique qualities. Report this Post to the Staff
