that's a lot of $$.........and the luster is unnatural for an FE. Getting the bids though.

No disrespect intended but I think that coin looks amazing. Looks too awesome to be real. That is why I would never buy anything like that unless it was slabbed, that is I don't know what I'm doing. (and I'm no fan of grading companies or their product)

I don't even see the 1858/7 to be honest.

its buffed up to look like that, its not original surfaces. Anytime you see the devices so shiny like that it usually means it has seen a polishing wheel

I can't see why that coin is getting so many bids.
I have seen a lot of FE's, I never seen one that looks more polished than that one.

Looking through his other coins, a lot seem to be cleaned, enhanced in some way.

Run Forrest Run. I notice other key date coins that are slabbed. For high end coin, wouldn't you spend the 25 bucks?

I'm relieved it's not an 1858/7; the markers are missing. Do you suppose that thing would slab?

It would slab, but in a genuine only or problem holder.

Wait till the winning bidder takes it to a coin shop, excited of course, and the dealer tells him not an 1858/7 and polished to death, $50 coin at best :-O
