Hello All,

This may be a trivial question here. I am thinning out my fleet. What I believe to be a substantial collection I am thinking of an easier way to list potential items for sale. I am fully aware of the entire realm of dealers, auctions, ebay, swap meets and such. However, via a site called NUMISTA.com, I was curious if anyone had experience with an approach that listed your inventory on a personal website you own. This would be a site where your would post your coins for sale with contacts and such! This would avoid hasty listings with ebay and other auction houses, avoid listing fees, re listing when items do not sell, avoid potential auction losses ect. The downside is this would closely resemble a dealer site, and therefore may or may not, require legal action of a business/dealer? Any ideas, cause this selling process is a pain when going to a large scale?

I am a member of the Numista site for a little more than a year. I have never been able to trade, but have gotten several inquiries. To be honest, most members are younger with only modern circulating coins to trade that have contacted me. Having said that I still feel it's a great site and members quite reliable.

Tumbleweedtrumpet,

Hey. I've always thought of a 7070 but for somereason never started! Those coins you listed I do have Half Cents, Seated halves, liberty and Trade dollars. However, they are all the EF or better. If your not in a rush, I posted you as a friend to remind me when I have time to recheck the coins you listed. I do want to sell them I just need to locate them from inventory. I do want to sell them if your interested in payscale near the EF, some are AU too. All nice coins. If I find a stragler in lower condition I will email you for sure! Thanks! Josh!

To all,

No I do not work for Numista. So does anyone know of a site and or personal web page that collectors use to post their collection they are trying to sell, rather than deal with the headache of ebay/cl/webstore ect. Seems it would just be easier to list items once and let them sit till someone runs accros it. Not to mention the fees associated with listing items and pap pal fees. Most of use just do this for fun rather a business, does not make sense to perhaps loose money via ebay and such. Any ideas?

If you have time eventually you could have enough posts to to the forum for selling coins here. If you really want to get rid of a lot of coins, I would suggest you look up coin shows in your area and go to some. There you could tell a multitude of dealers what you have, what you expect, etc. Might getrid of everything at one time.
