Hi there, I have just got hold of a 1843 penny without a colon after reg. I can't find a value for this the 1843 is valued but the 1843nc dosent have a price , It just says verry rare I can't post the pic of the other side it is bigger than 900k
The 1843 penny is known both with and without the colon after REG. See Spink's 'Coins of England & the United Kingdom' number 3948 - the two varieties are listed here. For 'retail' values (2010 edition):
REG - Fine £65, VF £200, EF £1,250, UNC £3,000 REG: - Fine £75, VF £325, EF £1,650, UNC £3,400
So the type without colon is actually worth less than the type with. Your coin, with its dents, dinks and wear would only grade at about Fair (not quite it making to Fine). Chris Wren
