Hi Guys, Today I finally got my 1927 Threepence, only 15,022 were minted, this completes my 1902 to 1945 Whitmans Folder.

A lovely ( and I think often over-looked) coin in the coin types of the time.

Indeed this would be an elusive year as in 1927 they didn't issue any 3d for circulation, only in proof sets.

This is one of my favorite designs, going together with 6d coin, where the number of acorns (or leaves) corresponds to the value. The designer G. Kruger Gray employed a similar idea with Edward VIII's coins (which haven't gone beyond patterns) with rings numbered according to the denomination. He didn't do anything of that sort with George VI's coins though.
