It tel to me that if a want a box of 1¢ I must have one complete for exchange.
Does anyone have the same problem ?

Yves,
I was (a long time ago) an elected member of the board at one Caisse Pop. I can tell you that the reason behind this may be due to the cost of handling currency. I don't know anything about this particular rule you are describing here but I know that the Caisse has a different mandate and operates very differently than the bank next door. Elected members vote on those rules so it isn't necessarily one-single-minded individual that made that decision.
You may have to get involved in your community, or participate in your Caisse activities to be known and believe me things can work out for you.
You can always open a commercial account - but perhaps there is a fee nowadays. Pas besoin d'aller ailleur, juste à parler aux bonnes personnes...

Quote: "I'm glad I live in Canada and not Quebec" Glenzy! Quebec is still a part of Canada! Yves, j'espere que cette incident est unique a votre Caisse Pop et que les autres banques dans votre quartier vont vous laissez acheter les boites. Si vous allez au centre-ville peut-etre vous aurez plus de chance? Vous restez-ou? A l'est? L'ouest? Excuse my writing by the way. I'm not used to typing in French so I'm not efficient with the accents.

Yves, I'm from Montreal. I thought you were as well. In that case I must say I have no help to offer you as I've only been to quebec city twice in my life and I don't even have an account at my local caisse pop. I'm a BMO man. :-)

Je ne veut pas rentrer dans un debat de politique mais, mois, je me considere Canadien et Quebecois entre autres. Ceci est un pays tres diversifie et c'est comme ca que je l'aime. Sorry for the multiple language uses, hehe. This is what happens when you have someone of Albanian/Irish/Italian descent born of an American father and Canadian mother in French Canada. Jack of all languages, master of none.

Nickel: My Chinese/Vietnamese-canadian/indian us-born children would make good allies with your Albanian/Irish/Italian descent born of an American father and Canadian mother in French Canadian children... There is indeed hope for a better world.
