The set of six guitar shaped one dollar coins has the most interesting coin designs I've ever seen. Wanted to share. The coins are 4,5 cm (~1.8 inches) high. Report this Post to the Staff

Sap Moderator Australia 16826 Posts	Posted 09/20/2006 05:57 am Cute coins. However, I'm not sure how official they are, for two reasons: - Somalia has been a de facto Anarchy since the early 1990's. The "official government" has virtually no power, no budget and no control over the country or the economy. I'm not sure who would officially authorize these coins, or any of the recent spate of commemorative coins listed in Krause. I doubt much of the profit from their sale makes its way back to Somalia. - The official currency of Somalia is (or was) the Somali shilling. "Dollars", as far as I can find out, have never been adopted as an official currency unit. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff
