Penny, an ending aligned with the initial statement of this thread.

Good point.

Yes pennylover, and I hope (not to hijack this thread) that the Mint will also fix their UNC set.

Mis-Represented by RCM - By Noob from Ottawa Ontario on 2/12/2011

Quote:
Very disappointed. I was hoping to display this on a shelf, however, NO DISPLAY case as represented in the description and photos from the RCM. It comes in a bubble envelope sealed in a plastic sleeve and card! What a mis-representation by the RCM. Price is out of sorts as you expect the cost to be for a portion towards the display case but, NOT. To me this was a scam. Very Disappointing with this representation by the RCM.

Royal Canadian Mint Response:

Quote:
We would like to apologize on behalf of the British Royal Mint and the Royal Canadian Mint to the small number of customers affected by a technical issue with a recent shipment of the Battle of Britain Coin. In some cases, this resulted in our shipping a proof version in cupro-nickel instead of the sterling silver proof version. All affected customers have been contacted and will receive the proper coin very soon.

Now if only they'd fix their bullion accounting system so we'd actually know how much got made off with from year to year... Oh that troy lb of gold... it ah... turned to dust and was pushed out the ventilation shaft... ooops, my bad.

All said it's nice the customer was finally treated correctly here. To be honest I've good experience with customer service there.
Rest in Peace

When Budweiser had a beer stein club, one of the issues was a $1000 list millenium stein. A neighbor merchant sold them, and sent back a half dozen defectives (bad paint, missing gold leaf, etc). I mean, for $400-500 wholesale, it's not unreasonable to expect quality. Replacements were OK, except for two, and when he sent those back (and ordered more), he got some from the original returns!
