So I have one of those dictionary safes on my bookshelf that to tell you the truth, forgot it was there. It's been sitting there for about 5 years, unmoved. I don't really remember ever putting anything in it but this morning, wanted to open it and check.
Inside, was a small brown cardboard box that I must have put in there before putting on the shelf. When I opened the box, I was blown away. Inside was a 1928-S Peace dollar sitting on a cotton like square. At that point, I do remember putting this in there, why at the time, I have no idea. It looks to be about Fine or so, and had beautiful toning in colors of yellow, pink, green, red, orange. It's not on the entire obverse and reverse, but it was a nice surprise! I was late to work but I will get some pics up.

I love rainbow toned Peace dollars! Actually I love rainbow toned anything silver as long as it is natural. :-)

Man, all I ever find that I stashed away and forgot it was there are $5 bills that I find in the winter when I first use my coats from last year. That coin is way better! Congrats!

Here is a semi-rainbow Peace to fill in the gap while waiting

Okay, here it is. The toning is much better in hand. Like I said, the pictures are not the greatest. It's hard to capture the actual toning with the lighting and angles.

lol. Is that because color is introduced to a black and white movie?

Those are some nice electric colors! Cool coin!
