I found this 1911 Australia one penny that is suppose to weigh 9.5 gram but only weighs 8.7 g is this errored.

Hi Linda, welcome.

The "book weight" of an uncirculated penny is 9.45 grams. Your coin is quite worn, which would likely have caused a slight drop in mass. It may also have been cleaned at one stage, which would have caused some more mass loss. So I'm not sure if there's enough "missing mass" for it to qualify as an error.

You might also want to confirm the balance you're using is reading correctly. Depending on the quality, a 1-decimal-point balance can be out by several tenths of a gram.
