Thought I would post a couple of pics of my newest coin, sorry about the pics....

There is one thing about the coin that I wanted to get your opinions on. On the obverse there is something on the coin right next to the "U" in Unum. I look at it with my 10X loupe and it looks like dried gum to me. It has pulled away from the dentials and has small cracks like it has dried. I do not want to break it out of the slab so is sending it to PCGS and have them see what they can do with it possible? Or should I not concern myself with it. Thanks for your opinions.

Grading services don't clean coins before putting them in slabs so you often see graded coins with miscellaneous dirt and crud, usually embedded within letters or in design crevices. If the dirt is minor and there are no other problems the coin gets slabbed. Your coin appears to have a small bit of crud that doesn't hurt the grade or eye appeal. I wouldn't worry about it.

How did PCGS describe this coin? Did they simply label it F-15? It appears to have pitting on the eagle's breast and Liberty's cheek. The area of your concern seems relatively minor to me.

Yes, all it says on the label is PCGS F15

I do not see any pitting on the eagles breast or the cheek. There are just black spots, mostly on the reverse of the coin.

That's good! To me, those spots are more noticeable than the area with which you voiced concern. Personally, I'd then leave well enough alone.
